Easter Festivities

Happy Easter!

On Saturday, we headed to Josh's school's annual Easter Egg Hunt. We were very impressed with his enthusiasm this year. We had a little pep talk before the big event to tell him what needed to be done. You see, in previous Egg Hunts, Josh would find one egg, get very excited over that one egg, open it, inspect the treat inside, show off the treat to everyone around him, and then eat and/or play with the treat. IN the meantime, all the other kids have wiped out all the eggs and Josh makes it home with one solitary egg.

Not this year. Our coaching worked and Josh had a basket filled with brightly colored eggs to enjoy.

Although he was able to contain his excitement and wait to open the eggs until after the hunt, he did have to shake each egg to make sure there was candy and not stickers inside. There's no fooling this one.

After the egg hunt, we enjoyed all the other festivities the school had arranged for the kids. Our first stop, was the petting zoo. The brightly tie-dyed chicks made a repeat appearance. So sad. Josh wanted to eat the green one. Petting zoo season means one thing to Josh....

From the petting zoo, Josh bounced back and forth between helping me at the craft table and the massive bounce house.

Okay, Okay. You got me. He mostly stayed in the bounce house, and I mostly completed the craft.

Next stop... Funny Balloon Man. This balloon looks a bit inappropriate in the picture, but from a side view you would be able to see it is in fact an airplane.

After our early church service on Easter morning, the three of us had a fabulous breakfast, followed by some fabulous family time at home. Chris arranged an awesome egg hunt for Josh in the front yard that lead to the reveal of his baseball-themed Easter basket!!! We plan to finish the day off with a big and hearty beef roast, homemade rolls, and yummy pie that I smell cooking to perfection as I type and a family viewing of UP. Oh happy day! We hope you and your family are having an equally wonderful day celebrating the sacrifice of Christ's death and the miracle of His resurrection.
