1 in 8 babies are born premature.
In nearly 40 percent of premature births, the cause is unknown. As a NICU nurse, it is my joy, honor, and challenge to care for these little miracles. The "roller coaster ride" we call the NICU is home to some of these babies for months on end. Watching the babies and parents go through the daily never ending struggles is heartbreaking.
The March of Dimes exists to help these precious babies by furthering research to solve the mystery of what causes premature deliveries when no other complications exists. The March of Dimes Benefit Walk is most likely coming to your city this spring.
