Destination: Candy Land

Josh played the part of a pilot for Halloween this year. He did a great job wearing the jacket and hat, but refused to keep on the awesome aviator sunglasses I found for his costume. I just couldn't understand why, until we realized they were prescription glasses. Hopefully, I haven't blinded the poor kid for life. However, it was for a good cause, he looked pretty cool in those glasses.

Katie's parents hosted a fabulously perfect Halloween Trick-or-Treating party. It was more treats than tricks, which was great for the kids. Their street is crazy every Halloween. The police shut it down to traffic this year due to the (literally) hundreds of kids begging for candy. Our little group made for an interesting parade as we walked the street with our Pilot, Fairy, Pumpkin, Puppy, and of course, Charlie Brown. Once Josh figured out what we were up to, he led the pack from house to house, filling up his bucket in the process.


We spent most of Friday afternoon practicing "thank you" ( which has changed from "Bye-Doe" to "TanKu") and saying "Happy Halloween" ("Halwean"). However, he had performance anxiety when it came to the actual moment of gratitude and would stare blankly at the nice man or woman who filled his bucket with sugary goodness. BUT, he had no problem putting out his hand for extra pieces.

This is the best picture I could get of all the kids in one frame. Actually, Charlie Brown is MIA (probably off causing trouble with Snoopy somewhere), but the rest are here. All the kids did a great job trick-or treating.

After trick-or-treating, we enjoyed watching the hundreds of kids pile onto Brent and Erin's lawn. The little kids were a little hyped up on sugar and were running wild inside and outside the rest of the night. Josh didn't go to bed until almost 10pm. I think the sugar is still in his system, because he has been wild all weekend. In a good, funny, not difficult-at-all kind of way, of course.
