Jelly Bean Man

Happy Easter!

This was a great weekend for our family. We had Chris all to ourselves on Saturday and took advantage of the great weather. We were outside ALL day and it was fabulous! Spring is finally here and we are loving it! Saturday morning we went to an Egg Hunt at Josh's school and it was quite a shindig. There was an awesome petting zoo (complete with some pretty freaky tie-dyed chicks- kind of cruel), huge bounce houses (Chris and I were itching to try them out), Easter crafts, a scary Easter Bunny, and of course an Egg Hunt with hundreds of tiny colored plastic eggs thrown onto a field of grass (they didn't bother to hide them for the small kids).

Poor Josh was so overwhelmed by the hundreds of kids swarming around him that he only picked up one lone yellow egg. So sad. But, a sweet little boy shared his many eggs with Josh and that made us all very happy. After Josh's basket was filled with these "sympathy eggs" he was so excited he kept shaking his basket and dumping all the eggs on the ground. Then, he would pick them up, put them in the basket and do it all over again and again and again. It was very fun- for him.

Josh loved his super cool Tonka Truck Easter Basket.

I can't have my boy be seen with a frilly basket now can I?

After the Easter Egg Hunt, Chris put together Josh's Easter/Late Birthday present. Josh loves his new climber & slide play scape. He is a little confused by the slide. He keeps trying to walk up the slide. His shoes fall off and BONK goes his head. He thinks it is funny. The dogs are excited too; they think it is some new fancy dog house for them.

Josh took a break from playing on his play scape and took in some rays of sunshine. It was such a great day that he kept clapping and clapping with excitement.

SUNDAY

Josh looked very dashing in his Easter Sunday Outfit.

Sunday morning we went to Easter service with Chris' parents. Josh had fun in the nursery with his many girlfriends and we heard a fabulous sermon about the miracle of Christ's Resurrection and how sometimes it's not really as "over" as you think it is. There is hope and a chance for life no matter what your circumstance.
Although everyone thought Christ was finished, three days later he rose again and saved us all, and thank you Lord for that!

The Easter Bunny brought Josh two fun baskets of goodies (one from us and one from Granee and Pa). He had a great time digging into his baskets. Josh LOVED the jelly beans, until he got to the green ones. He chewed it up until it was nice and sticky and covered in drool and THEN decide he didn't like it and spit it out and brought it to me. Thanks, Josh.

Granee gave Josh a "Safari" themed basket complete with a mini-lawn chair! It is so cute!

We had a fabulous weekend and hope you did as well!

You're just a girl, Al. All boys know it is "funner" to go up the slide backwards!!!

is it problematic for anyone else that miniman seems to have stolen *all* the cuteness in *all* the world? i mean, seriously-- leave some adorableness for the rest of us...
