The week started off just fine with Mother's Day.
Thank you to these two loves for making me a mommy.
We spent the day cleaning and organizing the house, which may not seem like the greatest of ways to spend Mother's Day, but for me- it was! I love checking off my to-do list!

It was a perfect night for wine and pizza on the patio.

Emily is in the "I do it" stage of development.
She likes to put on Josh's sunglasses and his shoes, she has even offered to brush my teeth.
Katie came over for dinner this week.
I walked into the kitchen and these two kids were talking about taxes.
Yep- taxes.
"You know, when you buy something they charge tax to go to the government."
Why were they talking about taxes?
Because they were painting me a picture which they were going to sell me
AND CHARGE ME TAX ON IT!
These two are going places.
Yet another driveway tantrum picture.
You think maybe I let our outings go a few minutes too long?
This one is a bit different though.
Here, she "pretended" to scream and holler at me, and then she looked up at me and said,
"Take picture of me now."
Ummhumm.
She's playing me.
Last time either of these two will be in "their" baby crib.
It served us well for 7.5 years.

Of course Josh had to sufficiently snuggle Emily in bed.
It has now been 5 days and she has done really very well in the transition. She has stayed in bed for every nap and nighttime with ONE exception. And that one time I actually watched her get out of bed on the video monitor and very softly spoke into the monitor to Emily and said,
"Emily- you need to get back in bed. We stay IN bed."
She completely melted down and got her feelings hurt. She climbed back in bed and cried herself to sleep. It was SO sad, but she hasn't done it again.
Amazing how different Josh and Emily react to rebuking.
I guess my expectations were super low since it was a NIGHTMARE getting Josh to stay in his bed when he got out of his crib.

This is super cool.
Josh's school is under renovation and the steel company that is providing the beams invited the entire school to sign a beam before it was placed for construction.
Now, Josh's name is forever a part of his school.

She was so happy to run around, but a bit sad she couldn't compete in the fun days.

First of all, how is Emily old enough to be in a big girl bed?? Unbelievable. And, I would totally take her up on her offer to brush teeth--every night at 10 I just want to roll into bed, but no, I have dental hygiene to worry about. She is super helpful.
