Jurassic Park

Since he could point and grunt, Josh has been obsessed with cars and trucks and all things relating to transportation. One of his first words was car, pronounced, "Caaaaaaaaa." Followed shortly by, "Pppppplane" and then, "Larlarlar" or helicopter. He has a car room, car PJs, car movies, car silverware, car undies, a car lunch box.

After a Christmas box of everything dinosaurs from Pickles and a pop up dinosaur book from Meme, Josh has found a new love. So, when Josh started showing interest in dinosaurs, which, in fact, are NOT cars, we were very excited and wanted to encourage him in any way we could. And, that included an adventure with Daddy to Glen Rose, Texas, home of the greatest Dinosaur museum in the nation.

Seemingly, there was a lot of hiking entailed in this dinosaur hunt. Chris said Josh did great managing his way over big boulders and down steep hills.

Finally, they arrived at the river. You can see a real dinosaur foot print right above Josh's shoulder and some Barosaurus prints to the right of his head in this picture. Chris says they were everywhere and amazingly large. Hard to believe that where Josh is sitting once stood an 80 foot tall Barosaurus.

After a busy morning of hiking and a Diary Queen lunch, the boys headed to the Dinosaur museum. I wish I could share all the pictures with you. It is truly amazing what they have done out there. Here are a few of my favorites...

Here is a whole herd of Barosauruses. I like the little baby ones, of course. I mean, really. Look at those necks. They could see all the way to California from here.

Josh got to dig for bones and fossils at the museum. He came home with some "dinosaur teeth" that were pearly white and super sharp.

Look at how sweet these boys are. Chris is such a good daddy to Josh. He has so much fun doing "boy things" with his daddy. He saw some girls in line at the museum and said, "Daddy, why are there GIRLS here on our boy day?" Josh also told me that he and Chris made up a "stinky feet" song on the way home from their long day. These are things every boy needs his Daddy for. Stinky feet and boy adventures!
