Summertime, is that you???

As the temperatures increase, so does the excitement around this house. I set up Josh's (very belated) Christmas present from his GREAT grandfather in the backyard the other day. Of course, we had to invite a few friends over to test out the massive water slide. Well, well, well, let me tell you... FUN is an understatement for what was happening in our backyard. As the re-initiation into water fun for the summer began, the kids were beside themselves with happiness. They didn't even notice the freezing water that they were jumping into. As I got COMPLETELY drenched setting up this puppy, I definitely DID notice the freezing water.

We had a little visit from our favorite red heads last week, Ava and her new baby brother, Henry! We stole them away from their grandparents long enough to visit the super cool aquarium downtown. It was a very fun day. We even saw some famous actors!!! Nemo and Dori, to name a few.

Josh loved the penguin. Note, that is singular, not plural. For some reason, all the penguins were in hiding except one little guy. There he was, all alone on the stage (aka: rock), dancing and squawking all over the place. He put on quite a show for us. It reminded me of someone.
Hummmm ... who was it??
Oh yes, HIM.

I adore otters, but I was quite taken with the jelly fish. They are so graceful and angelic gliding through the water like a dream.
Until they sting the bejesus out of you that is.
Then you know what you have to do.
Uck.

Ava's favorite part of the aquarium was the giant shark tunnel. There was a mere pane of glass separating our precious children from the dozens of hungry sharks swimming over our heads and along the tunnel walls.
Spooky.

Thankfully, it wasn't until we were safely home that Chris told me about the scene in Jaws 3 when the sharks chomped their way through the glass tunnel and ate their audience for lunch.

Shortly after I snapped this cool silhouette of Josh, he tried to walked UP the circle window. Future circus performer? I hope not.

Ava clearly won the "Who can stand like a flamingo the longest?" contest while visiting the flamingo exhibit. Must have been the pink shoes.

Later, when we got the kids home, Ava told Josh that she loves the Little Einsteins. Josh's face was priceless. Pure admiration. It was like he had just been introduced to his soul mate. They sat snuggled watching The Little Einsteins until it was time to say good-bye.
It was a very, very good day.

That's all for now! Stay tuned... we have a VERY awesome week coming up!!!

That is a good photo of josh in the portal. If you crop out the frame it will look amazing with all the layered space.
