Daddy Dates

This week's blog post is devoted to providing you with some eye candy in the form of my two handsome and favorite boys. I've been stock piling theses pictures for a few months now and in honor of Father's Day, it is finally time to share. Chris and Josh have been having some fun "daddy dates" over the past few months. Of course, someone has to take the pictures, so I can be found somewhere behind the camera to capture the cuteness.

Lucky for us, our neighborhood high school has a decent baseball team and Josh and Chris got to catch a few games this spring.
They also made it out to a Rangers game one nice evening. As you can see, Josh was not quite in the "smile and say cheese" mood. Despite the mood of this particular photograph, they did have a great time. The even scored an Elvis Andrus bobble head doll, now promently placed on Josh's bedside table.

"Knock, knock."

"Who's there?"

"Ice Cream."

"Ice Cream, who?"

"Ice Cream if you don't let me in!"

While Daddy was installing our new oven, Josh and I played in the giant box house. Another reason why Daddy-things are just plain awesome. No assembly required.

A few months ago, we went for a nice little ride on the downtown trolley. We had so much fun. He waved at the people walking on the sidewalks and loved the sound of the whistle when the train came to a stop.

We had a difficult time convincing him to keep his appendages (head included) inside the trolley.

The nice conductor man even let Josh come up front to open the doors and let the passengers on.
Chris took Josh fishing and although the fish weren't biting, they had a great evening together. I got to hear all about the worms, bugs, and other creatures spotted by the lake.

It is no surprise, Chris is an amazing father. Chris is the first to jump out of bed in the morning when we hear Josh's sweet voice as he wakes up. Despite working late hours, he has no trouble keeping up with Josh as they chase around the house. He calls several times a day just to hear Josh's voice and to talk about his day. If he gets home after bedtime, Chris always peeks into Josh's room to watch him sleep. He holds Josh tenderly when he is sad, and tickles him until he explodes into giggles when he is happy. He makes Josh homemade ice cream, and a handmade toy box. He teaches Josh manners, and how to throw a football. He tells him to open the door for ladies, and shows him how to use a screwdriver. I love to see the man that Chris is when he is with Josh. I love even more seeing how Josh looks up to his Daddy and everything he does.
We are so blessed to have an amazing man like you, Chris.
Happy Father's Day.
We love you.
