Eight is Great

Emily is eight months old and so much has changed in the past month! The biggest change is that this girl is on the move! Life is sure different in this house. She's my fast crawlin', Cherrio eatin', blue-eyed, growlin', little sunshine.

She is on the move and she's moving fast!

I just LOVE this sweet face looking up at me while I do the mundane chore of grocery shopping.

She LOVES the water. Whether it is the pool or the bath, she is a happy girl splashing about.

Murphy will always make her smile. If Murphy is in the room, Emily goes straight for her with a loud growl and begs for a face full of licks. You can see how Murphy feels about this arrangement.

This is Emily literally climbing the furniture. In this picture she started sitting in the little green chair and proceeded to twist around and scale the leather couch.

More furniture acrobatics.

 "Helping" Mommy with the dishes.
Thanks, dear.

Chewing on electrical cords, because that is a GREAT idea.
Before you call CPS on me (at least for this reason), please note my hand taking the cord out of her mouth. I was already in photo-taking mode when this all began.

If you look closely, you will not only notice the adorableness of Emily's smile, but also her excitement over ripping down the poor animals from her mobile. She literally snapped the plastic into pieces (all of which ended up in her crib, I swear it will be a miracle if this girl survives her first year at this rate) and pulled all the little toys into the crib with her.

In addition to furniture and electrical cords, Emily loves to play with toys. But, not baby toys... only Joshua toys.

Like dinosaurs,
  bow and arrows,

books about things that go,

and light sabers.

Although most days, our little princess keeps us on our toes, it's moments like this that I want to freeze in my memory.
Sound asleep, grabbing her little chubby toes.

But of all the memories, we will remember Emily's "tilty head" the most. When she is at her super cutest, she gives a coy little smile and tilts her head at you. Although, she used to only do it for Chris and Pickles (Chris still gets one every night when he walks in the door), Josh has now received 12 tilty heads (yes, he is keeping close count) and I get a few here and there.

So far, it's been a smooth eight months with this peanut in our family.  I have a feeling the next eight will be crazy busy, but amazingly fun and wonderful.

This makes me so happy! That girl has things to do. And don't you love how second borns completely skip the baby toys? They are totally unamused by things that are safe for them to chew on. Good times! She's precious; can't wait to see her again!
