Week 3

Gasp... gasp... wheeze!!! Bet you thought little Joshua had done us in when we didn't post last week. Wouldn't be far from true, but we pulled through some fussy, sleepless nights and endless feeding (poor Alison). Not that those nights are over, but he's getting better... and seems to be going through a bit of a growth spurt. At his last pedi appointment, he had regained the weight he'd lost since birth and was just above his birth weight. We're pretty sure he's topped the 8-pound mark this week (had to, given all the feeding).

Thankfully, we had Alison's mom in town to help us out during Joshua's second week, and what a help Cecily was ... washing clothes and dishes and just keeping this clean around the house so Alison could rest. This week, however, Alison has had to fend for herself (and Joshua and me), and you can feel free to extend your sympathies to her. She barely has enough time to do the things she wants to around the house (much lest rest) between Joshua's constant feedings. And getting out of the house? Forget it! That'll change as Joshua settles into a more regular schedule, though.

This weekend, Joshua had a great treat as he got to see all of his aunts and uncles in ONE day! Uncle Phil graciously came througDall on his way to Austin for Super Bowl weekend and got to spend some time with Joshua and Alison on Friday morning. Later on Friday, Uncle Tim and Aunts Betsy and Ginger came in for the weekend, and Joshua has been loving all the attention -- so much so that he's just beginning to make real, voluntary smiles. Sooo cute!!

Well, that's about all for now.
