Emily had her big first birthday this weekend. It was such a memorable day. All I wanted for her was to have a special day- all about EMILY- filled with the family and friends that helped us celebrate and raise this sweet little lady over the past year. It was a great day for our family and a perfect ending of her first year. We are so blessed by our "Emmy-girl."
We woke Emily up by singing her "Happy Birthday." As you can see, she was a little confused by the dramatic entrance. Josh was singing and dancing and adding his own "Cha-cha-cha's " to the song. He was more excited for this day than anyone.
I love his big heart for his baby sister.
Months ago, Mrs. Erin found this beautiful dress for Emily's birthday.
Look how pretty she looks in her party dress.
That smile lasted only a few minutes once she realized she couldn't crawl as speedy in this puffy dress. She was getting quite frustrated that she couldn't keep up with the big kids running around.
There was red and black all over our house...
Here are some party decor pictures- just for fun!
We were so happy to have our family come in town for Emily's special day. Miles can't keep them away from giving their favorite little ladybug a big birthday hug.
They were a huge help with party prep and kid entertainment.
Thanks for making Emily (and us) feel so special!
My house filled with people we love and who love us.
My favorite thing in the world!!!
Our little family singing Emily "Happy Birthday."
She was quite confused why her high chair was in the living room.
And why there were 30 people staring at her.
It wasn't long before she dived straight into the red icing and had a lot of fun making a mess. She was more reserved than I expected. You wouldn't know it by these pictures, but she is much more aggressive with a big banana.
Big brother getting ready to eat a baby sister cupcake.
Me and my baby girl.
I love this sweet smiling eyes more than words can explain.
Josh was so patient and sweet while helping Emily open her gifts. His kindness really showed during her birthday. I loved watching him get excited for her and truly celebrate her life. He said, "Mommy, I am so proud of Emily for turning one. She did a really good job."
Yes, Josh, she did.
By the end of the afternoon filled with friends, family, food, cake, singing, playing, bouncing, and presents- Emily (and Mommy) were ready for a nap.
Happy Birthday to our lovely Emily.
